Meet Chandra

Chandra D. Jarrett’s story is one of faith, resilience, and redemption; a journey that bridges corporate America and ministry.

A graduate of Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chandra spent more than fifteen years in the automotive industry with companies such as General Motors, Chrysler, and Saturn Corporation. While she was building cars, God was quietly building something in her.

In boardrooms, Bible studies, and training rooms, Chandra naturally found herself mentoring and developing others. Over time she realized that what she loved most wasn’t the machines. It was helping people grow as leaders.

As she often says, “I spent fifteen years building cars. Now I build lives.”

After two years of journaling and seeking God about her purpose, Chandra made the courageous decision to leave corporate life and follow a deeper calling: helping believers live victoriously and lead authentically.

Through Joy Consulting Group, as an executive coach and consultant, she has walked alongside countless individuals navigating seasons of brokenness, guiding them toward healing, purpose, and restoration in Christ. During this time, she also founded Sister Strengthening Sisters, a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging, equipping and empowering women heal, grow, and lead from a place of wholeness.

Today, Chandra coaches and consults leaders across corporate, nonprofit, and ministry environments, bringing both strategic insight and spiritual wisdom to the leaders she serves.

Her work focuses on helping leaders grow in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and leadership clarity so they can build healthy teams and thriving cultures.

A storyteller at heart, Chandra’s transparency and warmth invite others to believe that no detour is wasted and no wound is too deep for God to redeem.

Her message also flows through her writing, including her books:

  • What I Wish I Knew About Abortion

  • How Cancer Saved My Life: Rediscovering Life in a Deadly Place

  • Shatter Your Glass Ceiling: 30 Days of Spirit-Led Affirmations for Christian Women in the Marketplace and Ministry

  • Lipstick, Lattes, and Leadership: Love Letters to Women Who Live, Love, and Lead with Faith

Chandra is the proud mother of one son, Marcus Shute, Jr. He and his wife, Natalie, have two daughters, London and Milan, who bring her immeasurable joy.

Chandra Jarrett

Speaker - Author - Executive Coach

I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.
I've recently been called a unicorn because of the number of people who have moved here in the past few years.

My family photo includes my mom who I'm the Caregiver for, my son Marcus, my daughter-in-love Natalie, and my two granddaughters London and Milan. I enjoy family with game nights, sleepovers, and traveling. I love my family!

My favorite food is pizza because it's easy to order and I can eat from the five food groups in one meal.

My hobbies are reading books, traveling, and learning new things I can teach others.

A favorite place I've traveled to is a hard one. I love Barbados and any island and, I also love Sierra Leone, West Africa. The people of Africa are kind and Sierra Leone is beautiful.

I started Joy Consulting Group to encourage and empower leaders to live, lead, and love with JOY!

I want to leave a legacy where people experience the love of Jesus, especially when life is hard. I want people to know that with the Holy Spirit, we can live, love, and lead well regardless of life's challenges.

Sarah Oxley

Executive Assistant

I was born in Mishawaka, Indiana – near South Bend.

My family photo is of me and my daughter Faith. I love Faith's independence and traveling with her.

My favorite food is Strawberry shortcake and yes, it’s a food! Not just a dessert. More specifically, my mom’s strawberry shortcake.

My hobbies are reading, flying (I'm a pilot), camping, and hiking.

My favorite places I've traveled to are Norway and Iceland but it’s hard to narrow down!

I chose to work at Joy Consulting Group because I have a passion for helping people, especially in a more behind-the-scenes support role. I believe God has gifted Chandra with a natural ability to relate to people in coaching and consulting roles. I was excited when presented with the opportunity to assist her at JCG.

I want to leave a legacy where people say that they saw Christ through me. I pray that my choices and actions will be representative of Christ and lead people to want to have a relationship – or strengthen their relationship – with Him.
